FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bytefusion, Ltd Introduces Next Generation of E-mail Encryption
DOUGLAS, Isle of Man, Sept. 16, 2002 -- It sounds like
something out of The X-Files: do you know who's reading your
e-mail? But as industrial espionage becomes more
sophisticated, anyone's personal or business e-mails could
in fact be read in transit by someone other than the
recipient. But thanks to SecEx Mail, the new e-mail
encryption system from Bytefusion (www.bytefusion.com),
e-mail encryption is now quicker, easier and more affordable
than ever before.
Other e-mail encryption products rely on plug-ins that
require the user to remember to encrypt outgoing e-mail.
SecEx Mail runs unobtrusively in the background,
automatically encrypting and decrypting email streams in
real-time. Based on industry-standard RSA encryption, SecEx
Mail's key management system is unsurpassed in it's ease of use.
"Probably the greatest obstacle to wide-spread use of secure
e-mail is that most encryption systems don't integrate
seamlessly with popular email clients," said Mark Robertson,
Director of Sales at Bytefusion. "In some cases, the use of
plug-ins means that encrypted messages held in mail folders
are not searchable via the standard e-mail client interface.
In other cases, encrypted messages held in mail folders
become irretrievable once the encryption plug-in is
unloaded. And in most cases, security is an afterthought
whereby normal workflow is disrupted to accommodate
security. Not so with SecEx Mail."
SecEx Mail is available free to home users; Small
Office/Home Office (SOHO) licenses start at a one-time fee
of $39.95. Bytefusion will soon release a corporate version
of SecEx Mail for international or multi-location companies
that need to secure communication between their offices and
customers or with remote employees.
"In a nutshell, SecEx Mail will encrypt faster and more
secure than currently available solutions," said Robertson.
"It is invisible to the normal user, works with any e-mail
client without the need for custom plug-ins, and above all
is free for personal use. For commercial users, the SOHO
edition represents massive cost reductions compared with
other products available on the market."
